GREENFIELD UNIVERSITY : ABDUCTED STUDENTS REGAIN FREEDOM

 The Nation reported that the 16 abducted students and staff of Greenfield University, Kaduna State have been released.

The 13 students and three staff were reunited with their families at a hotel around Command junction in Chikun local government area of Kaduna metropolis.

Recall also that armed bandits invaded the Greenfield University campus at Kasarami village along Kaduna-Abuja highway on 20th April 2021 and kidnapped students and staff.

Accordingly,the kidnappers had killed five of the students after the parents had failed to raise the demanded ransom N800m.

President Buhari in May had appealed for the release of the abducted students..However parents expressed anger over the issue as they said the government had failed them..

Most parents said they had to small most of their properties to raise the ransom.
